August 25, 2010 Help in Times of Trouble

Life, in some ways, sends us all some rain. Sometimes it’s a sprinkle that we can handle with some praying and words of encouragement. Other times it is a torrential downpour that makes us feel as if we are drowning. However, the psalmist in Psalms 61 informs us that when our hearts are overwhelmed, we can run to the Lord (our rock) who is spiritually on another plane than we are. Even when we feel like others are ignoring our needs and just “zipping” by us. God always provides a spiritual place that assures us safety and a warmth, and a way to deal with the storms in our life. Continue reading
